Description
Claude M. Baker, president of International Typographical Union. Claude M. Baker standing against a wall while wearing a suit with his hands behind his back. Baker predicted that the IUF would return to the AFL after a five year estrangement. He conferred with M. M. McKnight, a former president of Local 198, criticizing certain War Department policies and the scarcity of wood pulp, which he says can be solved by allowing Italian prisoners of war to work in the North Woods. From article entitled "Union President Expects ITU to REturn to AFL Fold After Estrangement," Star-Telegram Evening Edition March 30, 1944.
