    Sergeant J. B. Palmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Palmer of Everman is home on furlough from Plant Park, Tampa Florida, where he is a gunner on a B-17. He received his gunner's wings March 11 at Fort Meyers, Florida. He is preparing for overseas service and hopes to be assigned to the same Heavy Bombardment Group in the South Pacific from which his buddy, Staff Sergeant Henry T. Lanier has been missing since February 11. They attended Polytechnic High School together before entering the service. Palmer has been in the Army four years.
