Thomas Jefferson High School's record-breaking sprinters; left to right, Jack Greider, Billy Merkel, Charley Parker and Perry Samuels. Coach Barlow Irwin is in the center. They are sitting cross-legged on the grass off to the side of a football field. The four runners clipped the 440-yard relay record at the Fat Stock Show track meet. Mr. Parker also broke the 220 record and tied the 100 mark. The boys are wearing sweatshirts with their school name on them. Coach Irwin is wearing a suit.
