Champions of the 1943 rodeo who received awards from the National Rodeo Association. They are, left to right, Amye Gamblin, Andy Curtis, Scott D. Hamilton, Louis Brooks, Everett Shaw, and Fuzzy Garner. Mr. Gamblin, of Wilson, Oklahoma, won the calf roping title. He is wearing a cowboy hat, a coat, jeans, and a belt buckle. Mr. Curtis, of El Reno, Oklahoma, won the title in saddle bronc riding. He is wearing a dark-colored cowboy hat, a western shirt, and trousers. Mr. Hamilton, the retiring National Rodeo Association president, is holding the prize saddle. He is wearing a cowboy hat and a tie. Mr. Brooks, from Pittsburg, Oklahoma, is the all-around cowboy champion and also bareback bronc riding champion. He is wearing a cowboy hat, western shirt, jeans and a belt buckle. Mr. Shaw, of Stonewall, Oklahoma, won single steer roping. He is wearing a cowboy hat and a leather coat. Mr. Garner, of Canute, Oklahoma, won the bull riding title. He is wearing a cowboy hat and a dark-colored suit.
