Description
Miss Ruth Schrank and one of her puppets. A former teacher of dramatics in 30 Omaha schools, Miss Schrank then wished vainly for some way to make students less self-conscious on the stage. "I wanted them to forget the audience completely and just act." she explains, "so I finally decided that working with puppets might be the solution, although I knew nothing at all about the business." That was 10 years ago, and she's been at it ever since, from a road show that toured Texas and the Middle West as far as Minnesota, to benefit shows she stages in Fort Worth every few weeks for hospitals, churches, and schools." Miss Schrank is standing behind a table in front of a window with blinds holding a puppet at its strings . Star-Telegram Evening March 13, 1944
