Description

Lieutenant Joseph Stephen Gardner of the Marines has been decorated with a Silver Star for conspicuous gallantry in action. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Gardner, of Waco, Texas. Lieutenant Gardner graduated from the Naval Academy in 1942 after taking two years of engineering at Texas A&M. He is pictured wearing his military uniform.
