Description
The Red Cross kicked off a drive at the American Manufacturing Company plant. Attending the drive left to right are Private First Class Hugh Rueter, Private Joseph Pollard, and Technical Sergeant William Bond. All three men are Purple Heart wearers. Private Rueter was injured in the South Pacific. His arm is in a sling underneath his military coat. Private Pollard was also injured in the South Pacific. He is dressed in his military uniform, walking on crutches and holding a shell casing for inspection. Technical Sergeant Bond was injured at Salerno. He is wearing his military uniform. Other shell casings are stacked around the men.
