Description
Private Eileen Kilroy of Women's Army Corps (WAC). Recruited for assignment at Camp Wolters, she will report there for clerical work after her five-week training period at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. Her husband is Lieutenant John V. Kilroy, a veteran of foreign service in the Pacific theater. He currently serves in the administrative office at Camp Wolters. She feels that an army wife has an obligation to serve in the war effort. The couple, both from St. Louis, Missouri married in December 1943 when he returned from foreign service. She is photographed from her bust up in a blouse with ruffles. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, February 5, 1944.
