Description
Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASPs). A group of WASPs, women fliers in training, at the Avenger Field in Sweetwater, Texas. The group was viewing a program of pictures featuring a color film of the Big Bend National Park. The group picture shows some women seated on the floor, some seated on benches, and many are seen standing in the back of the room. Some are wearing flying attire with bomber jackets and some are dressed in jumpsuits. The field commander is Major Robert K. Urban. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, February 3, 1944.
