    Description

    The Red Cross Blood Donor Service is urging people to donate blood to help save a life. Pictured at the Fort Worth Blood Donor Center, left to right, are Lieutenant (Lt.) Charles H. McCollum and Mrs. W. F. Swank. Lieutenant McCollum is a medical officer in the United States Navy. He is explaining to Mrs. Swank how donated blood is used to save lives. He is dressed in his uniform. Mrs. Swank is the center's thousandth donor. She is lying on a cot, wearing a dark color dress. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram January 20, 1944.
