Mrs. Josef Meier (Margery Clare Hume Meier) is an actress in the Black Hills Passion Play production founded by her husband Josef Meier. The cast is in Fort Worth, Texas, for a performance at the Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum. Mrs. Meier plays the part of Mary, mother of Jesus. Her husband is the Christus, and their 5-year-old daughter, Johanna, also has a role in the show. Mrs. Meier, the former Miss Margery Clare Hume, is the daughter of stage actors Edward Hume and Frances Cossar (Mrs. Frances Hume). The family spends most of their time on the road and retires to the Black Hills home for five months a year. Mrs. Meier has a background of writing and acting on a radio show in Chicago, Illinois. She and her husband read a lot. She is shown seated on a sofa, and reading a book. She is wearing a dress, belted at the waist and a pearl necklace and earrings.
