Cadet Palmer Bacon and Miss Carol Bardin are being married Saturday, January 15, 1944 at the Hotel Texas. Their wedding was the first to be held in the Hicks Field Aviation Cadets Club at the hotel. Revered Granville Walker performed the ceremony. The couple's romance began during high school at Wenatchee, Washington. Cadet Bacon is an aviation trainee in the Army Air Force. He is dressed in his military uniform. The bride, Mrs. Bacon, is wearing a hat, collared blouse, blazer, and a matching skirt. There is a large corsage pinned to her lapel. The couple, jointly holding a knife, are preparing to cut the wedding cake. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, January 16, 1944.
