Description

Mrs. Ruth Ann Cameron. The photo was taken in a well-appointed room with dark draperies over the windows, a Persian-style carpet on the floor, and she is seated on a plush over-stuffed sofa. A chair and a small table with a small pitcher are behind her. Clipping reads: "Mrs. Cameron Is Undecided About Plans. Mrs. Ruth Ann Cameron, whose extradition to Oklahoma on a bigamy charge was disallowed Tuesday by Governor Stevenson, said Wednesday her plans are 'very indefinite.' She was interviewed at her home, 75 Westover Terrace. The former Mrs. Winfield Scott said she drove back to Fort Worth Tuesday night after the all-day hearing in Austin. Appearing first in a white robe, with her dark hair pinned back, she apologized for her appearance and readily agreed to be photographed 'as soon as I fix my face a little.' When Mrs. Cameron reappeared she wore a gray-green wool two-piece dress and her hair was combed into a softly waved pompadour. She sat clasping her elbows and smiled when her husband, Capt. David M. Cameron, was mentioned. 'I hear from him often,' she said. 'In fact, I had a letter from David this morning. He's an orthopedist with the Medical Corps in England. Things are so indefinite, we haven 't planned where we'll live after he comes back, but he had a practice in El Paso and also is associated with the Mayo Clinic.' Mrs. Cameron revealed that while she probably will maintain her Fort Worth residence for the duration, she is planning to make a trip in a few days to El Paso, where her husband's parents live.'"
