Perrine, Puerto Rico Commander, At Home for First Time in 17 MonthsBrig. Gen. Nat S. Perrine returned Wednesday to his native Fort Worth for the first time since he went to Puerto Rico 17 months ago to take command of the United States Army Mobile Force, which is tucked away in the folds of the Cordillera, Puerto Rico's mountainous backbone.Because the 'frontieis of the war have moved away' from the Americas, his work now to prevent possible invasion is of less importance and the emphasis is on training troops and antisabotage, he said.'But because this frontier has shifted east it does not mean we have won the war or that the war is over,' General Perrine declared. 'Our forces instead are on the offensive rather than the defensive and are driving the enemy back.'He explained that the lifting of dimout regulations on the East Coast are not to be construed as a sign the enemy is beaten. 'The chances of invasion are less now and that is the reason. We have . . . moved the frontier east- . . . . promoted to brigadier general when he was sent to Puerto Rico Sept. 1, 1942. In civil life he was a rancher and managing director of the Texas Safety Association, Inc. –Star-Telegram Photo."Stamped: Star-Telegram Eve. Nov 10, 1943
