Letson, 1510 East Leuda, killed Monday afternoon in a pistol duel with her former husband, R. C. Morris, 54, of 111 Penn. Morris was wounded fatally in the shooting at the Leuda street address.Morris was married to Mrs. Letson from 1915 until last Aug. 4, when she divorced him. She married Letson the same day, she said Monday after the double killing. Morris also had remarried.In her account of what occurred, Mrs. Letson said that when Morris approached her home late Monday afternoon her daughter-in-law, Mrs. David C. Morris, saw him first and with her two small children fled to the nearby home of Mrs. S. E. Ferguson, 1516 East Leuda.She said Morris, unable to enter the front door because the screen was hooked, went to the back door, which she rushed to bolt, and then fired two shots at a rear bedroom window before going to a side door where the pistol duel between Letson and Morris occurred.Letson died instantly from a head wound. Morris, fatally wounded, was taken to a hospital in an ambulance, accompanied by his son, David C. Morris, who arrived a few minutes after the shooting. The elder Morris died despite an operation and blood transfusion.In a statement to authorities, Mrs. Letson said Morris had threatened. . .
