Mrs. Mavis Gibson saying goodbye to her daughter as Mrs. Weldon Belamy looks on. A woman (GIbson) is in a short-sleeved striped blouse tucked into high-waist gaberdine-looking slacks, dark socks, and light lace-up shoes is in a crouch position in order to hug a small girl. The girl is wearing a short print dress with a bow at the waist in back, and has a bow in her hair. She is wearing very scuffed light-colored shoes with laces and a buckle at the ankle. Belamy is wearing a plaid fitted dress trimmed with eyelet on the front seams, sleeves, and pockets. It also is self-belted, tying in the front. Her shoes are open-toed with small buckles. Behind her, mostly hidden, is another child, apparently a girl in a gingham dress and with light socks and another pair of scuffed lace-up light colored shoes. They are all standing in the brick entryway of the house at 2210 Prairie.
