Clipping: "V-Mail Letter From Sailor-Dad Saved for Baby When little Jimmie Eugene Wesson is old enough to read, his mother will give him a V-mail letter received last week from the sailor-father who has never seen his six-weeks-old son. 'I want you to know how proud I am of you, and how sorry I am to be away from you and your mother,' the father, J. D. Wesson, chief machinist's mate in the Navy, wrote. 'We hope when you grow up to be a man that there will be peace and no danger of another war. I have just been through the campaigns of Sicily and Italy, and I hope you never have to go through the things your Dad has, but if you do I know you will make a good sailor.' Mrs. Wesson and her son live at 808 Grainger. Wesson is a veteran of 10 years of Navy service. His ship was part of the convoy during the Roosevelt-Churchill meetings at sea. –Star-Telegram Photo" Stamped Star-Telegram Morn. Oct. 31, 1943
