    Description

Parade shot Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES) marching down brick-paved street. Store in front of Washer Brothers building. The women are wearing uniform knee-length skirts, jackets, hats, white gloves, and uniform oxford laced shoes. Spectators line the street in front of brick and masonry buildings. Cast iron street lamps and fire escape are in view in the background. Clipping: "The beauty as well as the marching form of these trim WAVES from the Naval Air Station at Grand Prairie drew the applause of the crown lining Main [Street] Wednesday as they passed before the review stand in Fort Worth's largest Navy Day Parade."
