Clipping: "Merchant Marine Cadets Visiting Parents Here Having lived on the same street for several years, it took the Merchant Marine to bring thetm together: Cadet L. J. Lane Jr., and Cadet Jim von Tungelin. Cadent Lane, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Lane, 920 Fifth Avenue, and Cadet Tungelin, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. J. von Tungelin, 1812 Fifth Avenue, met when they were en route to New York after two months training at St. Petersburg. The lads spent two months at Huntington, L. I., and now are stationed at Gallup's Island, Boston, from where they expect to get their commissions about Jan. 1. Lane attended Paschal High School and NTAC and his pal attended Oklahoma Military Academy and Texas A&M. Both young men are radio students, and so far as is known they are the first wearers of the new Maritime Service uniforms to visit here. They are visiting their parents until Monday."
