Description

Zonta Club dinner. Three women are standing at a table covered with a table cloth and a few plates in view, but the main feature is a selection of fresh produce as a centerpiece. It includes eggplant, acorn squash, apple, celery, and a green (possibly mustard greens or kale). Mrs. Berta Womack is wearing a dark dress with buttons to the belted waist and beaded elbow-length sleeves and collar. Her hat is dark and has a netting on tip, and she is holding wire rimmed glasses and a pear fruit. Miss Mildred Horton is wearing what looks like a matching dress and hat, flannel or wool in appearance. The long-sleeve dress has darts at the waist and a belt. She is wearing a long necklace with beads in the shape of a cross and wire-rimmed glasses. Mrs. Irene Aby is wearing a dark 3/4 sleeve dress that is gathered at the waist, a necklace of rectangular beads in three chains, shell-shaped earrings, and a wrist watch. She is holding an acorn squash. There are wicker seated chairs in view on the right and a table with complete settings for several diners to the left in the background. Clipping: "Mrs. Berta Womack, Miss Mildred Horton of Texas A. & M. College and Mrs. Irene Aby (left to right) figured in they Zonta Club's Dinner Friday night." Zonta still exists. The site www.zontafortworth.org says "Zonta International is a leading global organization of professionals empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy."
