    Mrs. Nora Denny is pictured taking down the gold-starred service flag that symbolized her son, Private First Class Joe C. Denny, reported to have died of pellagra in a Japanese prison camp, after reviving word from the War Department that he is still alive. Mrs. Denny is wearing a dress with a lace collar. The service flag has a star in the center and reads, "Served Our Country."
