Description
Sergeant Horace McHam, left, of the Army, and Master Sergeant Buford Hudgins of the Marines are two former football players from the Masonic Home. They spent the afternoon at the Service Men's Center listening to the 1943 World Series broadcast between the New York Yankees and the St. Louis Cardinals. Sergeant McHam and Sergeant Hudgins have been life-long friends, having spent 12 years living in the Masonic Home. Sergeant Hudgins entered North Texas Agricultural College while Sergeant McHam attended Paris Junior College. Both played football at their respective schools. The men are sitting in front of the radio, dressed in their military uniforms.
