Description
J. J. Boydstun is sending monthly letters filled with cheer and homespun gossip to soldiers stationed around the world. Each message is a little different. He addresses the soldier by name and makes a point to include little bits about their family, love life, hobbies, or former work. He turns out about 50 letters each weekend. Mr. Boydstun has four sons who served in the Armed Forces. Don Jasper Boydstun was killed in Pearl Harbor. Lieutenant Ward L. Boydstun was reported missing in action on January 19. Major William J. Boydstun and Private R. L. Boydstun are in active service in the States. Mr. Boydstun is sitting at his table, writing the letters. He is wearing a dress shirt, necktie, and trousers.
