Description

Walter E. Cone mailing package.At a post office service window stands a middle-aged man wearing a striped shirt with a tie tack on the front (no tie) and a mechanical pencil in his pocket, dress-style trousers, with a leather belt and a watch cord fastened to a belt loop. His hat is of straw with a floral band at the base of the crown. He has a pipe in his mouth and a parcel in his hand. The parcel has a large "V" for the from section and is addressed in pen. The box has several wraps of neatly tied string holding it closed. Behind the box is a wrack full of rubber stamps for postal use, and an ink pad is in view as is a receipt book and a postal worker's hand. Behind the counter can be seen a stack of parcels already received. Above the counter painted on translucent glass is "Parcel Post." Clipping:"Santa Claus for SergeantWalter E.
