Description
A marine flier from Denton, Texas, is visiting his brother in Fort Worth, Texas. Pictured, left to right, are City Detective Herman Shifflett and Captain Edwin Shifflett. Detective Shifflett received an honorable discharge from the United States Army on June 16, 1943. Upon discharge, he returned to the Fort Worth Police Department, where he is a detective. He is dressed in a hat, pinstripe shirt, necktie, and trousers. His firearm is holstered at his hip. Captain Shifflett is a pilot in the United States Marine Corps. In 1940 he left North Texas State Teachers College a year early to enlist in the military. He is visiting his brother while on 34-day leave. Captain Shifflett is dressed in his military uniform.
