Description
Albert Clifton Farmer, 70 year old who started as a messenger boy 56 years ago and today figuratively writes "30" to 29 years of service as city superintendent of the Western Union office here will put on his hat Tuesday and retire. Farmer has seen many happenings in his half century of service. He has has seen the grim news of battle casualties and the great news of battle victories flash from the telegraph wires over the Spanish-American War, World War I and World War II. Mr. Farmer is shown sitting at a desk signing a document with an ink quill. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, August 31, 1943.
