Description
Cachet commemorating resistance of Duchy of Luxembourg against the Nazis drawn by Dorothy Knapp and produced by the Fleetwood Cover Service. The bottom of the cachet is a cloud upon which are the words "A Nation Small will Risk Its All for Liberty." Above the cloud sit two military helmets. Swords rise between the helmets along with a "V" presumably for Victory as well as the flag of Luxembourg. The swords are piercing a broken chain. The commemorative 5-cent stamp is part of the "Overrun Countries" series issued by the United States Postal Service. This photograph appeared in the August 22, 1943 morning edition of the Star-Telegram.
