Description

Ensign Don J. Young Junior, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don J. Young. A young man in a light colored Navy dress uniform in front of the photo wall at the Star-Telegram. He has a light jacket and shirt and a dark solid color tie. His service cap is light in color with a dark bill. Navy insignia is on his hat and he has a service medal thin ribbon and wings over his breast pocket. Clipping:"Don J. Young Jr., Naval Pilot, Now at New Jersey BaseEnsign Don J. Young Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Don J. Young, 2849 Avenue A, is a dive-bomber pilot stationed at Wildwood, N. J. He received his commission in June at Corpus Christi Naval Air Station.Ensign Young received the Air Medal for action in the Aleutians in June, 1942, where he served as aviation machinists mate second class. He elisted in the Navy in July, 1941.Mr. and Mrs. Young have received word from their other son, Russell Andrews Young, 18, with the Merchant Marine in the Pacific, that he is well and safe.
