Description
A service flag honoring 80 African American men and one woman who are in the armed forces was dedicated at Saint Andrew's Methodist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. The flag features the Christian cross above two "V's". Mable Motte Barnwell is standing and holding the flag at the left and Eula Mae Brooks is holding the right side. Miss Barnwell is wearing a dark blouse and skirt and a netted hat. Miss Brooks is wearing a long-sleeve dress, a wide-brimmed hat and a pair of gloves. Standing at the far right is an unidentified man. Behind them is a group of African American men and women seated and looking on at the dedication service. Hanging on the back wall is a cross.
