Description
Beryl Nowlin is a student at E. M. Daggett Junior High School. During Mrs. Leona L. McGill's art class, Beryl began a poster project. She chose the slogan, "Be a Wave - Not a Slave," and drew a design that could serve as a recruiting sign for the Navy. Beryl is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bryant Nowlin. She is standing against a wall, displaying the artwork. The slogan is at the top of the paper. Beneath it is a depiction of a woman standing underneath an eagle and another woman standing in front of a swastika. Beryl's signature is at the bottom right corner of the artwork.
