    Description

Mrs. James Lee Doak is visiting her mother-in-law, Mrs. J. S. Doak, awaiting government permission to board a plane which will take her to visit her husband in Lima, Peru. The couple were married on February 14, 1943, by Reverend J. L. Shaddick in Arp, Texas, although the bridegroom was in Peru at the time and the couple haven't seen in each other in eight years. The groom's mother acted as his proxy for the ceremony. Mrs. James Lee Doak is shown standing in front of a fireplace with her hands behind her back. She is wearing a dark dress that has transparent sleeves and a flower detail under her bust. She is also wearing a pearl necklace. On the fireplace's mantel there are a couple of small sculptures and a hat displayed. There is also a framed artwork hanging above the mantel.
