    Description

Firemen fought the stubborn three alarm fire for three hours in the rain at the Metropolitan Building. They are shown scaling a ladder to fight the flames that spread to the hotel rooms. The second man from the top of the ladder is wearing an oxygen mask. The man at the bottom is carrying a rolled-up hose. There is a sign behind them for "Stonestreet and Davis". There was extensive damage to the Chamber of Commerce offices, Milner Hotel, and the Texas Buffet Café.
