    Description

    Mrs. M. L. Cherry and her eight-year-old daughter, Valerie Alice Cherry, moved to Fort Worth, Texas, from Columbus, Georgia, on February 16, 1943. Her husband, First Lieutenant Cherry, now in the 88th Glider Infantry at Fort Meade, South Dakota, has been in the Army for 17 years. Mrs. Cherry is shown sitting in a wooden chair while her daughter stands beside her and holds on to the chair's arm rest. Mrs. Cherry is wearing a long-sleeve, dark dress with a pearl necklace and her daughter is wearing a dotted blouse with a pinafore. Behind them is a large bookcase.
