Description
The 1943 Golden Gloves season is concluding with the national fights at the Chicago Tournament of Champions. The amateur competition is being held at Chicago Stadium in Illinois. Representing Texas in the flyweight division is Jose Andres. He is being crowned winner of a quarterfinal bout. Standing with Andres in the ring, left to right, are announcer Chet Coyner, Dan Coates, and Oliver Ball. Andres is wearing boxing trunks, gloves, and a robe and has a towel draped over his shoulders.
