    Description

    Lieutenant Clare Frederick is a Marine in the Women's Reserve. She is the first officer of the auxiliary to be stationed in Texas, and is serving as a recruiting officer. Lieutenant Frederick enlisted in the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES) in October, 1942, and was sent to officer training school at Mount Holyoke College. While attending school she transferred to the Marines. She is shown sitting at a table, writing on a piece of paper. There is also an open book and a purse on the table. She is wearing the WAVES uniform and is smiling.
