    Description

A beautiful patriotic theme features the first-day cover from the Fleetwood Cover Service company, Mount Vernon, New York. The new once-cent Four Freedoms stamp was released in Washington, D. C. on February 12, the birth date of Abraham Lincoln. L. W. Staehle designed the cachet. The bottom of the cachet is a base inscribed with "Malice Toward None". On it sits the statue enshrined in the Lincoln Memorial. Also appearing is the Statue of Library, a sunrise and the United States flag. This photograph was published in the February 28, 1943 morning edition of the Star-Telegram.
