Description
The 1943 Golden Gloves State Tournament is being held at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas. Facing off in the semi-final round for the heavyweight title, left to right, are Private Gene Poletti and Private Jack Mullen. Poletti is a native of Chicago, Illinois, but is serving with the military in Texas. He is shown securing Mullen in a headlock while adding a right hook. Poletti pummeled out the decision and went on to win the state title.
