Lowell V. Shelton, machinist mate second class of the Unites States Coast Guard. Shelton is shown standing in front of an empty wall wearing his Coast Guard uniform. He is returning to his base at Galveston, Texas after spending his leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Shelton, and his sister, Mrs. K. S. Bates and Mrs. Elmer Blackwell. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, February 19, 1943.
