Description
Reverend Anastasios Valdimes of the Greek Orthodox church, Church of St. Demetrios at 21st and Ross Streets. Rev. Valdimes has returned after 9 years serving elsewhere. He was pastor here from 1929 to 1934 and then was transferred to Little Rock and Nashville pastorate before returning to Fort Worth. He was born and was educated for the ministry in Constantinople. He was well traveled and coming to the States in 1916, enlisted in the United States Army where he served overseas for a year. In 1921 he was ordained at Pittsburgh and from there started his ministry. With Rev. Vladimes are his wife and six children. He wears his clerical clothing in this bust shot. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, February 13, 1943.
