Evangelist Horace W. Busby has conducted more than 18,000 sermons in 24 years of evangelical work. Busby came to Fort Worth, Texas, shortly after entering the ministry as minister of the Vickery Boulevard Church of Christ in 1912. In the 24 years since he has conducted an average of 26 meetings a year, and there has been an average of about 25 services in each meeting. The meetings have been held in almost half of the states in the United States, but mostly in Texas and Oklahoma. He will be conducting a meeting at Arlington Heights Church of Christ, the 65th he has held in Fort Worth, Texas. Mr. Busby's grandfather was one of the first elders of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mr. and Mrs. Busby have three children: E. B. Busby, principal of Stripling High School; Horace Busby Junior, and Mrs. Leo McClung. Mr. Busby is shown sitting at a desk in his home, wearing a suit and eyeglasses. On the desk is a book, a radio and a telephone. Behind the desk is bookcase filled with books.
