Description
Meat for civilian consumption may be scare but Richard Wright still sees and handles plenty of it on the hoof everyday. A buyer and seller in the livestock business, Wright came to Fort Worth from Oklahoma City, his wife and son followed shortly afterward. Mrs. Wright was spared the ordeal of house-hunting because her husband had found their apartment at 3613 South Henderson before she arrived. Before leaving Oklahoma City, Wright worked with his father in the latter's livestock commission business. When his uncle, Gib Wright, invited him to come to Fort Worth to take a job as a buyer, he accepted. In this picture is Mrs. Richard Wright and son, Richard Junior. Mrs. Wright is shown holding her son on the arm of the chair she's sitting on. She looks on at him lovingly as he laughs and sucks his thumb. Mrs. Wright is wearing a checkered skirt with a buttoned-up sweater and a pendant necklace. Richard Junior is wearing a simple one piece jumpsuit. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, February 14, 1943.
