Description
An operating table scene at the opening of Fort Worth, Texas's first emergency medical station at Riverside Elementary School. The two doctors are Dr. Harold Williams, left, city director of health and welfare; and Dr. W. B. Nies, right, county health director. The nurse is Miss Ruth Hughes, Nurse Deputy for the Civilian Defense. The patient is Mrs. Fay Arms. The doctors are wearing surgical masks and scrubs and Nurse Hughes is wearing a nurse's uniform. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, February 9, 1943.
