Lieutenant Kermit C. Hynds has been awarded the Silver Star for his gallantry in action over the Assam area in India. He is the son of Mrs. Ida Hynds and a former resident of Fort Worth, Texas. Lieutenant Hynds is serving with the Army Air Forces as a fighter pilot. He is shown in a military portrait photograph, dressed in a pilot's coat and an aviator's cap.
