Description

The President's Birthday Ball is being held to raise money for children suffering from polio. Working in the pediatric wing of the Harris Memorial Methodist Hospital is nurse Miss Irene Lang. She is shown with a patient, Alva Mae Sorrels. Alva Mae is the one-and-a-half-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Sorrels. Alva Mae is lying on a hospital bed, wearing a cloth diaper. Nurse Lang is sitting next to the bed, beside Alva Mae's head.
