    Description

    Two officers were recently promoted to first lieutenant in the United States Marine Air Corps. Pictured left to right are Lieutenant A. I. Haas and Lieutenant C. W. Fairchild. Lieutenant Haas is the assistant engineering officer of the headquarters and service squadron. He enlisted in the service at 16, and has been serving 20 years. Lieutenant Fairchild is the quartermaster of Glider Group 71. He enlisted in the Marines in July 1940. He is a graduate of the University of Kansas and a member of the Kansas State Bar. Both men are dressed in their military uniforms with leather pilot's jackets.
