When Mr. and Mrs. Harold L. Franks of Detroit, Michigan, had to find a climate that would be better for their baby's health, Franks thought of Fort Worth, where he had lived for a time about 10 years ago. The family arrived in July. Mrs. Franks, a native of Pennsylvania, had never been to Texas but here sister-in-law, Miss Mildred Franks, was already living in Fort Worth helped her to feel at home. The Franks live at 1612 West Allen. Their daughter, Nina Ruth who is six and a half attends Lily B. Clayton School. Franks who had worked for 9 years for the Chrysler Company before coming here, now is employed in the machine shop at Consolidated. Mrs. Franks makes a hobby of sewing for the children. The family likes Fort Worth and he baby's health has shown a big improvement. In this picture is Mrs. Harold Franks and daughters, Mildred Louise (left) and Nina Ruth. Mrs. Franks is shown sitting on a floral printed couch with Mildred sitting right beside her and Nina sitting on the ottoman near her legs. Mrs. Franks has a children's book open on her lap and appears to be reading from it as her daughter listen and look on. The small girls are wearing dresses with puffed up sleeves and Mrs. Franks is wearing a blouse and skirt ensemble with a pearl necklace. Behind the couch is a window with translucent curtains. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, January 14, 1943.
