Description
The first of 19 fire-fighting units assembled for auxiliary firemen and other civilian defense volunteers was given test by city firemen and found highly effective. Manning the two hoses are W. W. Rattan, W. W. Yarborough, J. W. Hunter, J. D. Grimmitt, Paul Yates and V. J. Hill. The men are shown knelt down to the ground as they all man the fire hoses and shoot them into the distance. Each of them are in uniform and many of them are wearing hats as well. Behind them is the water pumping unit that the hoses are connected to. Further in the distance are two parked automobiles near a large, brick building. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, January 12, 1943.
