Shown are Mrs. J. W. Stapleton of Tarrant County, and her 5-year old grandson, Marvin. She is sitting in a rocking chair and holding Marvin. Both are smiling for the camera. She is wearing a dress with a knitted top, and a pair of eyeglasses, and Marvin is wearing a pair of striped overalls with a striped shirt underneath. Mrs. Stapleton has five sons, a grandson and a son-in-law in the armed services. She is taking care of Marvin, who is the son of Emmett Stapleton, one of her soldier sons. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, January 10, 1943.
