Left to right are Mrs. R. F. Nelson, Mrs. D. R. Kirk, Mrs. D. M. Brodhead and Mrs. C. R. Haden. Mrs. Nelson, Mrs. Kirk and Mrs. Haden are sitting around a lunch table and Mrs. Brodhead is standing. The women are attending a luncheon at the Newcomers Club. Mrs. Haden is the club president. The other three women are all from San Diego, California. Mrs. Brodhead is handing Mrs. Kirk a small wrapped box while Mrs. Haden is holding a similar box. The lunch table is covered in plates of food, glasses and tea cups. There is also a box resting on the edge of the table. Each of the women are wearing differently decorated hats, including Mrs. Nelson's checkered floppy hat. The women are also wearing long-sleeve dresses and pieces of jewelry, such as necklaces or lapel pins. Behind them is a planked wall with a lamp and a mirror hanging nearby.
