Miss Bertha Vargas. Miss Vargas is shown wearing a buttoned up, striped, textured jacket over a blouse. Her legs are crossed and she has her hands resting on her lap. She is the daughter of General Juan B. Vargas of Mexico City and Durango, Mexico. She recently was queen of the Black and White Ball in San Antonio, Texas. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram Morning Edition January 4, 1942.
